REACTION POST: If you're not in on this, I don't want your life.

First season of Avatar: Legend of Korra is over...

MY TOP 3 REACTIONS:
1) Crying of anger, sadness, and happiness. Almost the whole way through from Tarrlok to everything. All my feels. Forreal tho.
2) Screaming. Legit screaming like SCREAM AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS ON A MOUNTAIN PEAK screaming.
3) Laughing from pure, unadulterated joy and because I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT!
I'm still caught up in a flurry of emotions; I couldn't even text one of my besties properly 'cause I was shaking so much. If I had lady crushes on animated characters, Korra and Lin would most definitely be it. My man crushes would be Bolin and Tenzin. Among many other characters from this series and others...baaah...Good god, that was amazing. What is my life.

Humanity At Its Purest, Most Simplistic Level

I bought thatgamecompany's Journey to relieve stress after the fuckery that is my Humanities groupmate. I'd been hearing a lot of good things about it, including an article from Game Informer about gaming fandom's immaturity and having faith restored in gamers through Journey. I have to say that I agree. I honestly hate a lot of the jags I run into when I'm shooting down zombies or simply watching the way Jenny Haniver gets treated when she plays Call of Duty both annoys and amuses the hell out of me.

Journey is the definition of what partnership should be about and illustrates the exact opposite of my incompetent Humanities partner and so many others. It is by far one of the single most beautiful, visually stimulating, and emotionally profound games out there. Usually, I go for the complexity of storytelling, character development, social commentary (well, depending on how you interpret it, this can definitely be social commentary), etc. However, this is the one time that I found beauty trumps complexity. I've been following Journey Stories on Tumblr just to see other people's gaming tales. Every time you play is a different experience. You don't even have to be a regular gamer to appreciate it. If you're interested in a simpler breakdown, here's a video review by IGN.

Mildly Spoiler-ish TV Post

SO MANY FEELINGS ♥♥♥ I will do a more thorough review of my favorite shows in the future. Most likely the summer. Anyway, here are reaction-reviews for Community, Cougar Town, Girls, Parks & Recreation, Scandal, and Veep.

Let's Watch "The Hunger Games"

Watched The Hunger Games premiere night so I'm reviewing it. I'm pretty sure there was a shit-ton more and I'll probably keep adding it in as I remember.

EXPECTATIONS: As soon as I saw the main cast, I expected very, very low quality in the film. I mean, I like a lot of them as individual performers but for something of this caliber, with this important a message, they wouldn't be able to pull it off as well as a POC could. Let's see what I got...

Let's Watch "Dream High 2" - Episode 1-6

EXPECTATIONS: I didn't expect much before I started watching and I still don't expect much after the first six episodes...well, at least I don't expect it to be nearly as good as the first season. I don't normally watch sequels to dramas either because I hated the first season or the first season didn't really interest me to begin with. However, I really enjoyed Dream High so I'm giving the second season a shot. It's got nearly the same crew as they had for the first so I'm hopeful that they won't let this go downhill. Let's see how they're doing so far...

Quick Update

It's been a while since I last posted and reviews, especially because I've been watching a lot of shows. Right now, I'm compiling a list of shows I would recommend/discourage from watching as well as games. If I run out of shows and games to list, I'll move onto films. So look out for that!

I plan on reviewing Prosecutor Princess and bought season 1 of Rizzoli & Isles, The Mentalist, and Roots as well as the second season of Fringe. I'm also trying to finish A Game of Thrones as fast as I can so that I can finish the next book before the second season releases. I'll review the first season when I review the book. I also bought Shanghai Girls and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan both by Lisa See as well as Bossypants by Tina Fey. Not only that, I've bought quite a few games since my last post: Assassin's Creed 1-3, Alice: Madness Returns, Mirror's Edge, The Sims 3, Little Big Planet, and Beyond Good & Evil to name a few.

I also hate the name "The Lulzy Club" now...might make that a slogan or something else. I am excited! With that said, I'm out, peepers!

Let's Watch "The Playboy Club" - Episode 1: Pilot

EXPECTATIONS: I hate Hugh Hefner so, of course, my expectations are extremely low. I expect this will be another glamorization of women being emotionally and sexually harassed in the business as well as a white-washed revisionist history. Let's do this...
